The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has expelled Nwisabari Bani, the National Financial Secretary Ubale Funtua, and Deputy Secretary General Riki Nwajiofor.
The expulsions come amid allegations of their involvement in illegal elective congresses in Rivers and Katsina States, as well as impersonating the national leadership of the NYCN. The three individuals have also been barred from holding any positions within the organization.
The sanctions were announced during the NYCN’s quarterly meeting held in Port Harcourt, presided over by President Sukubo Sara-Igbe Sukubo. The decision followed the report of a Disciplinary Committee that conducted an investigation into the allegations of gross misconduct against them.
Bashar Garba, chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, confirmed that the expelled leaders were found guilty of flagrantly violating the constitution of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, leading to their removal and the disqualification from holding any further positions within the organization.
