The number of applicants seeking to be enlisted into the Nigeria Police Force has exceeded seven hundred and five thousand, and still counting.
The number of applicants so far is based on data published by the Police Service Commission as at 7.30AM today.You will recall that the Police Service Commission in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force had on the 1st of April unveiled an online recruitment portal for the enrolment of ten thousand new personnel into the Police.The target is to recruit five hundred Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, five hundred Cadet Inspectors, one thousand, five hundred Specialist Officers and seven thousand, five hundred Constables.The Chairman of the Commission, Sir MIKE OKIRO, who is a former Inspector General of Police, said the process has been smooth so far.The position of the PSC was contained in a statement released by the Head of Press and Public Relations, IKECHUKWU ANI.
