Wike who made this known at a luncheon he hosted in Port Harcourt, said he will not allow ethnicity cause division among Rivers people.
The immediate past governor of Rivers State who also said the politics being played in the state is for the interest of Rivers people, warned against intimidation of the people.
The FCT minister further urged citizens to emulate the G5 by making sacrifices for the development of the country.
Meanwhile; former Governor of Benue State, Samuel Otorm’s, says the G5 group within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, will support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Ortom made this known at a luncheon hosted by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The G5, a group of five then-governors within the PDP, rejected Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate before the 2023 poll last February, and backed a southern candidate.
Ortom said the G5 has no regret for supporting Tinubu’s victory in the last poll, declaring that the group will again back the ex-Lagos governor for a second term in office as Nigeria’s President.
The G5 members; Nyesom Wike, Samuel Ortom, Seyi Makinde, Okezie Ikpeazu and Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi all finished their second term of eight years as governor last May, except Makinde who is now in his second term.
