The Peoples Democratic Party in Rivers State has picked holes in recent comments credited to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, criticizing the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed the election of Governor NYESOM WIKE.State Chairman of the PDP, FELIX OBUAH said Chief JOHN OYEGUN’s comment that there was something fundamentally wrong with the judicial arm of government because of the Rivers State judgment is not expected to have come from a statesman.OBUAH said there was nothing wrong with the judgment delivered on 27th January by the panel of Jurists led by the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice MAHMUD MUHAMMED.He said the position of the APC Chairman is disrespectful to the Supreme Court as an institution, the Justices of the apex court and the Nigerian Judiciary. He also said for OYEGUN to have been quoted lamenting that his party had lost every important resource-rich state to the PDP means that the leadership of his party is not interested in the development and welfare of the people but in economic resources of states.FELIX OBUAH’s comment, which was contained in a statement released by his media assistant, said such remarks constitute a dangerous threat to the survival of Nigeria’s democracy.
