Although members of the PCC loyal to the former Chief of Staff, Tony Okocha dismissed the report, insisting that governor Wike is still a member of the People’s Democratic Party until proven otherwise.
Chief Tony Okocha who was the State Chairman, Local Organizing Committee of APC PCC in a media briefing in Port Harcourt, said members of the party are ready to reciprocate the gesture of Governor Wike in the just concluded Presidential election in the March 11th governorship and state house of Assembly elections in the state.
Chief Okocha while describing as another watershed in the political history of Rivers State, enjoined all to be civil and rule-bound, stressing the need for all to display the spirit of sportsmanship before and after the elections.
Chief Okocha while alleging that members of the APC led by Rotimi Amaechi and PCC members led by the governorship candidate of APC, Patrick Tonye-Cole tried to sabotage those who believed in the candidature of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, said since 2015, APC never had it right the way it is in the just concluded elections.
Meanwhile; the All Progressives Congress in Rivers State disown Chief Tony Okocha, saying that he has no right to speak for the APC neither is he a member of the party in the state.
The State Publicity Secretary of APC, Darlington Nwauju who was reacting to the comment by Okocha that APC will reciprocate the effort of governor Nyesom Wike for the victory of APC Presidential Candidate, said Tony Okocha has been working for the PDP for some years now.
Nwauju insisted that APC even across party line have remained resolute in their support for the APC Governorship Candidate, Patrick Tonye-Cole for March,11th , 2023.
The APC Spokesman said Tony Okocha cannot claim that governor WIKE’S effort was responsible for the victory of APC when he is denying any involvement in the victory of APC Presidential elections.
