NEC lists categories of Vice Chancellors banned from elections duties

Chairman of INEC, Professor Mahmood Yakubu said this at a meeting with Vice Chancellors of Nigerian Universities held at the National Universities Commission in Abuja.

Speaking at the event, the INEC boss, among other things, noted that collation of results will take place in eight thousand eight hundred and nine Registration Areas or Wards, seven hundred and seventy four Local Government Areas, thirty six States and the FCT.

Yakubu said, in addition, the Commission require Returning Officers for each constituency.

According to the INEC boss, the commission will engage twenty three thousand two hundred and fifty eight personnel as Collation and Returning Officers.

He noted that just as in previous elections, the Commission has requested each university for a specified number and category of academic staff as contained in his letter to the Vice Chancellors.
