President MUHAMMADU BUHARI is set to jet out of Nigeria again, after just returning from his trip to Kenya and Ethiopia last week.
This time; President BUHARI is traveling to Europe for talks on anti-terrorism in Strasbourg and London.
The Nigerian leader will first stop in Strasbourg, France, where he will address a special session of the European Union Parliament.
A statement released by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, FEMI ADESINA, said members of the executive and legislative arms of the European Union will be in attendance at the session.BUHARI’s address is expected to focus on terrorism, violent extremism, corruption, Nigeria and Africa’s current security, economic and developmental challenges.He is also expected to underscore the need for greater support from the European Union and advanced nations for their rapid resolution.President BUHARI is also billed to hold talks with the President of the European Parliament, MARTIN SCHULZ and the President of the European Commission, JEAN-CLAUDE JUNCKER.From France, President BUHARI will take off to London to join other world leaders at a Regional Conference on Syria, which opens in the British capital on Thursday.The Nigerian President hopes to use the opportunity of his participation in the conference to continue his push for more global understanding, collaboration and support for Nigeria and other countries in the frontlines of the war against terrorism.President BUHARI will spend the rest of the week in Europe and return home at the weekend.
