Some tricycle riders who spoke with our correspondent had said the police officer shot the young boy on his chin for refusing to pay the sum of one hundred naira.
But CP Mukan condemned the dastardly incident and ordered the immediate commencement of an Orderly Room Trial for the Police Inspector who pulled the trigger.
Spokesman for the Command, SP Nnamdi Omoni in a statement said the Inspector who is currently being tried, will be dismissed and charged to court immediately for murder.
The statement adds that the Commissioner of Police has equally extended the heartfelt condolences of the Inspector-General of Police and the Command to the families of the deceased and the Keke Drivers’ Union, assuring them that he will do all in his powers to ensure that the interest of justice will be served in the circumstance.
The Command therefore appealed to members of the public to be peaceful in their conduct and avoid taking laws into their hands.
