The landlord, Obinna Eze is alleged to have after sending the woman and her children out of the apartment, directed some individuals to de-roof the woman’s apartment for owing him rent.
Today FM’s correspondent who visited the apartment located at number twenty Post Office road, YKC within Woji Community in Obio-Akpor Local government Area of Rivers State, reports that the properties of the woman have been destroyed by rainfall.
The woman while disclosing that she had promised to pay her rent, said she has reported the matter to Woji Police Station, but the landlord refused to show up at the station after the police invited all the parties.
Meanwhile a human rights advocacy group, Lawyers Watch for Justice International Initiative through their legal Adviser, Gbenga Oladapo, while describing the alleged action of the landlord as callous, said the law frowns at such wicked and dastardly act, and also called for the arrest of all those involved in the act.
Attempt by Today FM’s correspondent to reach out to the landlord, Obinna Eze to respond to the allegations has not been successful as he was yet to pick several calls put across to him.
