Governor Wike who said this while flagging off the reconstruction of the jetty also lamented the continues building of shanties in government own lands and the level of insecurity associated with the shanties.
The Governor also assured that the state government will reconstruct the road leading to the jetty but will consult with political leaders to discuss modality before demolition of some shanties along the road.
Flagging off the project, the Peoples Democratic Party Chairman in Rivers State, Ambassador Desmond Okawo thanked the governor for creating legacy projects for the future generations.
