LYON, who is a businessman said this in reaction to his victory at the polls against arch rival, Senator DOUYE DIRI of the Peoples Democratic Party.
LYON while assuring the people of his commitment to develop the state, said the rot in the governance system of Bayelsa will be corrected.
Correspondent SANDRA KENNETH reports that LYON, who won in six of the state’s eight local government areas, defeated his closest rival, Senator DOUYE DIRI of the Peoples Democratic Party who won in two local governments.
LYON’s victory marks the first time the PDP would lose a governorship election in the state since the nation returned to democracy in 1999.
