Chairman of the panel, Justice GUMNI KASSIM KAIGAMA struck out the case after the first petitioner DIGHOBO OBAGHAMA applied to withdraw his petition.
Speaking with newsmen, COLLINS DIKE who is counsel to the petitioner and SDP candidate for Rivers West Senatorial election, DIGHOBO OBAGHAMA said his client withdrew the case base on personal reasons.
On his part, counsel to the Social Democratic Party, SOMINA ELEKIMA said the SDP did not object to the withdrawal since the petitioner had made up his mind.
Our correspondent reports that the decision for SDP and its candidate to withdraw their petition comes few days for the National Assembly Tribunal to deliver ruling on the election in Rivers West Senatorial District.
