Thousands of Guineans protest against president Conde’s possible third term bid

Protesters chanted “Amoulanfe,” “It will not happen” in the local Susu language and “Free the prisoners”.

The march was organized by the National Front for the Defence of the Constitution, FNDC, a coalition of politicians and activists opposed to a constitutional change that could let CONDE seek a third term.

The peaceful and heavily policed protests were held in number of cities across the West African country.

Guinea, with a population of nearly thirteen million, is Africa’s biggest producer of bauxite and is host to international mining companies.
