The Nigerian Senate is insisting on having the immediate-past Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, IBRAHIM LAMORDE appear before it.
The Senate has already initiated a process for the issuance of an arrest warrant for LAMORDE after he failed to respond to an earlier invitation over allegations of diversion of looted funds recovered by the EFCC.The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges and Public Petition had been charged with the responsibility and recommended that an arrest warrant be issued to LAMORDE.Senate SAMUEL ANYANWU who is the Chairman of the Committee made the presentation of the report of its findings, but Deputy Senate President, IKE EKWEREMADU cautioned against a resolution for a warrant of arrest. The Senate investigation of IBRAHIM LAMORDE is based on a petition by one GEORGE OBOH against the former EFCC boss.
