The Islamist Boko Haram insurgents have continued to unleash pockets of violence on soft targets in the north-east of Nigeria.
Over the last forty-eight hours, Boko Haram attacks in Borno and Adamawa States have claimed the lives of at least forty-five people.
The attack in Adamawa involved two female suicide bombers who targeted a motor park in Madagali village, killing dozens of people.
The Brigade Commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Brigadier General VICTOR EZUGU, confirmed the attack to newsmen.
But the Brigade Commander could not give details of casualty figure, but said the injured persons were evacuated to a military facility in 143 Rangers Battalion in Madagali as well as Mubi General Hospital.Also; the General Officer Commanding the 7th Division of the Nigerian Army, stationed in Maiduguri, Major General LAMIDI ADEOSUN, confirmed pockets of attacks on the outskirts of the Borno State capital, which claimed the lives of at least thirty people.
The latest incidents come three days to the end of the year, which is the deadline set by the Federal Government to wipe out the Boko Haram insurgents.
