TCN Begins 25-Day Maintenance on Omotosho–Ikeja West Power Line, Lagos to Experience Intermittent Blackouts

Electricity consumers in Lagos are set to experience intermittent power outages as the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) commences a 25-day maintenance exercise on the Omotosho–Ikeja West 330kV transmission line.

In a statement, TCN announced that the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and the National Independent System Operator (NISO) have granted approval for the “critical infrastructure upgrade,” which is aimed at enhancing the efficiency and reliability of power transmission in the region.

The agency assured residents that power will be restored through the line after each day’s work. It further noted that all other circuits will remain operational throughout the period to ensure a stable power supply to Lagos and its environs during the maintenance exercise.

The scheduled upgrade is part of TCN’s ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s transmission network and improve service delivery to electricity consumers.
