The Association of Waterways Ambassadors of Nigeria (AWAN) has urged government agencies, development partners, private investors, and civil society to prioritize the comprehensive development of Nigeria’s inland and coastal waterways. The initiative aims to rehabilitate and construct seaports, jetties, intermodal transport links, and dredging operations, as well as revitalize riverside communities through tourism and environmental
