This is coming few days after expiration of the five days nationwide warning strike by both unions.
The Chairman of UNIPORT branch of SSANU, BENARD EZECHUKWU while speaking on the reason for the strike, outlined their demands which include payment of earned allowances, the removal of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Administration amongst others.
BENARD EZE also lamented over the inability of the institution to appoint a Deputy Bursar and Deputy Registrar.
On his part, the NASU Chairman, OGBEGBE OSORUCHI said the school management has been officially informed earlier before the warning strike, while calling on students to exercise patience with both unions.
Our correspondent ELFREDAH ALERECHI reports that members of the striking unions shut down offices and also prevented members who tried to sneak into their offices.
Meanwhile, some students of the University have called on the management to accede to the demands of the SSANU and NASU members to enable them return to work.
