SUPER EAGLES MADE MISTAKES - RHOR
Sunday, 17 June 2018 08:52Super Eagles’ Coach, Gernot Rohr has said the team’s two nil loss to Croatia in their opening match of Russia 2018 was due to many mistakes.
Rohr, while speaking at the post-match conference of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Group D fixture, said he and his players were aware they made some important mistakes during the game.
He said the entire team was disappointed at the result, adding that they needed to work on being professional with the set-pieces.
Rohr, however, assured that he and his assistants would go on to ensure the team was improved upon before their June 22 date with Iceland in Volgograd.

Wednesday, 06 June 2018 07:35Coach of Gambia’s senior women’s natonal team Mariama Sowe believes the Queen Scorpions have all it takes to defeat Nigeria in the first leg of their Ghana 2018 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifiers today.
The Gambians who are currently camped at the Gambia Football Federation Hotel at Yundum eliminated Burkina Faso in the previous round while champions Super Falcons drew a bye.
“We have been going on with our tactical approach to this game against Nigeria and we are confident that we can get a good performance and the desired result,” Sowe told cafonline.
Nigeria will host the return leg on Monday, 11 June 2018 in Lagos with the winner making it to the tournament in Ghana come November.
SUPER FALCONS TOUCH DOWN GAMBIA
Tuesday, 05 June 2018 08:40The delegation of Senior Women National Team of Nigeria, Super Falcons, has arrived in Banjul, capital of The Gambia, on Monday, ahead of Wednesday’s 2018 Women Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia’s Senior Women Team.
The contingent, led by the Chairman of NFF Women’s Football Committee, Hon. Ayo Omidiran has since settled down at the Metzy Residence Hotel and the team had a first training at the FIFA Goal Project in Banjul on Monday evening.
Wednesday’s match will take place at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
A two-legged affair between both teams will determine which of the two teams will be at the final tournament in Ghana later in the year.

SUPER EAGLES SQUAD NUMBERS REVEALED
Tuesday, 05 June 2018 08:34The Super Eagles of Nigeria have revealed their new squad numbers ahead of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup.
The squad numbers were made known via a 59 second video on the team’s twitter handle @ngsupereagles on Monday.
Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa would adorn the number one jersey, while Spanish based Francis Uzoho has 23 leaving Daniel Akpeyi with 16 jersey as skipper Mikel Obi retains his number 10.
Newly signed Brighton and Hove Albion player, Leon Balogun will settle for number six, while Russia based Byran Idowu will wear the number two shirt.
Portuguese based Tyronne Ebuehi will be seen in number 21, as fellow defender Chidozie Awaziem will put on number 20 while Abdullahi Shehu holds 12.
Midfielder Ogenyi Onazi is with number 17 jersey while recuperating Wilfred Ndidi will wear number four.
Forwards Alex Iwobi and Kelechi Iheanacho will grace numbers 18 and 14, respectively.
Chinese based Odion Ighalo has nine, leaving newly capped Simeon Nwankwo with number 13, as Russia-based Ahmed Musa holds seven.
Chelsea’s Victor Moses stays with 11, as William Troost-Ekong has number five and Elderson Echiejile with three. Jersey number 19 is
given to John Ogu while Italy based Joel Obi has 15, leaving Oghenekaro Etebo with the number eight shirt and Kenneth Omeruo on 22.
OLA AINA DROPPED FOR RUSSIA 2018
Monday, 04 June 2018 14:38Super Eagles boss Gernot Rohr has dropped fullback Ola Aina and midfielder Mikel Agu as he named his final 23-man squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Rohr had cut his initial 30-man provisional squad to 26 while injury ruled Moses Simon out of contention.
After the game against England on Saturday, the Eagles' trainer confirmed the omissions of Aina and Agu in the squad ahead of the 2018 World Cup:
