The Police in Rivers State are investigating the gruesome murder of an eight-year-old girl who was a victim of defilement around Elehahia axis of Port Harcourt.

 

Our correspondent reports that the victim was apparently strangled and stabbed on the neck by a yet-to-be identified assailant, and left to bleed to death at her home.

 

The spokesman of the State Police Command, Nnmadi Omoni, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.

 

Omoni said an autopsy would be conducted on the body of the child to determine the actual circumstance of her death.

 

The Police Public Relations Officer recalled the suspect had been accused of defiling the slain girl had his case dismissed based on the advice of the Director of Public Prosecution.

 

You will recall that a similar case of murder of an eight-year-old girl around Eliozu for suspected ritual purposes, which allegedly involved Ifeanyi Dike and two other suspected accomplices, is still pending before the Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt.

SUNDAY FALEYE TO BE BACK IN FOUR MONTHS

Sunday Faleye is most grateful for all the support he received after he underwent successful surgery on his elbow which he injured at the recent CHAN in Morocco according to scorenigeria.

The 19 year old midfielder injured his elbow in 2018 CHAN group game against Angola in January and has not played ever since.

Faleye was operated on in Altach on Wednesday.

According to his agent Josep Lenhart, the surgery was passed successful and possibly Faleye will be back playing again in the next 3-4 months after undergoing his rehabilitation.

KANO PILLARS DEFENDER MOVES TO MOROCCO

Nigerian defender, Kalu Orji, has joined Moroccan club, Mouloudia Club Oujda on a three-year contract.

 

The 25-year old, last featured for four-time NPFL Champions, Kano Pillars having signed a short term deal with the club in April this year after severing ties with another NPFL club, Enugu Rangers.

 

 

The defender was a member of Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles that finished second at the African Nations Championship (CHAN) hosted by Morocco early this year, his second appearance in the competition after participating in the previous edition in Rwanda in 2016.
