Contract extension talks in London, between Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President Amaju Pinnick and Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr, have been delayed.

Rohr, who recently had dental surgery in France, is still recovering from the operation and is unable to travel to London.

It is expected that contract negotiations will begin at the end of January or the beginning of February, at a date and venue yet to be determined. Rohr’s current contract with Nigeria ends on June 30th.

“I am looking forward to a good year with my team. There is a lot to do, with the World Cup qualifiers coming up in March and we need to be focussed on the tasks ahead,” Rohr told Opera News, from his France home, on Saturday.

“I hope that we shall soon get the contract negotiations out of the way, so we can focus on the job that we have to do.”

The Franco-German tactician will be at the draws of the 2022 FIFA World Cup African qualifications despite his employer, NFF, adding some clauses for his contract to be extended with Nigeria.
