Super Eagles defender Elderson Echiejile will play no part in Monaco’s UEFA Champions League first leg third qualifying round clash against Swiss side BSC Young Boys today.

The 26-year-old was not listed in the 21-man squad that touched down at Berne yesterday afternoon for the game, according to a report on Monaco’s official website.

No reason was given for the exclusion of Echiejile, who featured prominently in Monaco’s pre-season matches.

There were places in the squad for new signings Stephan EL Shaarawy and Mario Pasalic.

Echiejile who starred in all five pre-season games for Monaco will see his place taken up by French star Layvin Kurzawa.
