There are indications that Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta, is about to add former Manchester United defender, Gabriel Heinze, to his backroom staff.

Apart from overhauling his playing personnel, Arteta has also made several significant appointments within his coaching staff.

Set-piece coach, Nicolas Jover was brought in from Manchester City, while goalkeeper coach Inaki Cana, joined from Brentford.

It appears Arteta may be bracing for a potential exit this summer and is looking to bring in Heinze as a replacement.

The 45-year-old has had a rather unspectacular coaching career so far in his native Argentina, as well as a brief period in charge of MLS side Atlanta United.

Heinze is currently in London and is believed to have held talks over the possibility of joining Arteta’s coaching staff, though he also has the option of taking over Argentine club San Lorenzo.
