Head coach of Rivers Angels FC, Edwin Okon, is confident his team will bounce back from the opening day defeat of the 2022/23 Nigeria Women’s Football League as they look to get their season back on track on match-day two against Osun Babes.

The Jewel of Rivers lost 2-0 to champions, Bayelsa Queens, in Yenagoa last Wednesday and will welcome Osun Babes to the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Wednesday (today).

Rivers Angels are looking to reclaim the NWFL title, after a disappointing performance in the last Super Six playoffs saw them dethroned, as they finished third on the table.

“We are champions too any day anytime and I am so sure of the league this season. But the result of this match didn’t reflect the work we have put in. Some loss of concentration defined the game and we are back home to work on the lapses in the team and I believe we will come up better,” Okon said
