Super Eagles qualify for playoffs despite Cape Verde draw

The Super Eagles qualified for the Playoff Round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup after playing a 1-1 draw with the Blue Sharks of Cape Verde at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Tuesday.

Victor Osimhen put Nigeria ahead in the first minute, tucking home Moses Simon’s corner kick.

The lead lasted five minutes with STOPIRA equalising for the Blue Sharks.

The Super Eagles finished top of Group C with 13 points, two more than there Blue Sharks.
