Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has become a doubt for Nigeria’s 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde in November after sustaining up a muscle injury in training on Saturday.

The club said Osimhen left the field prematurely with a muscle strain in his right gastrocnemius.

Injury of the gastrocnemius is the most common form of calf strain and it typically takes one to three weeks to fully heal.

The 22-year-old is Rohr’s most trusted striker in the national team set up and he will be hoping to have him available for the clashes.

Osimhen who joined the Italian side from Lille in the summer of 2020 has scored nine goals in twelve appearances for the club in all competitions.
