NWFL: Falode warns clubs who do not comply with Covid-19 test will be delisted

Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Aisha Falode has warned that clubs who fail to comply strictly with the mandatory Covid-19 test at the end of the one month suspension of the league will be delisted from the Premiership.
After the initial postponement of matchday 5 fixtures to enable clubs undergo Covid-19 test as mandated by the Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19, the NWFL was suspended for one month on the grounds that most clubs in the league has not complied strictly with the requirement.
Falode, in an exclusive Interview with Today Sportslive said that clubs are beginning to comply.
"The Clubs are reporting back now and we're getting some clear signals that now they're ready to comply. And we still wait for those who haven't to do it.
But we know that at the end of the one month, those who have submitted their results good or bad we'll know what to do, if it's positive. Covid is not a disease to be shameful of.
We've had executive Governors going on isolation, going on quarantine and then they come back to tell us they've tested negative twice so they're back at work.
So, if we have any such case we just follow the line for treatment and then We isolate you, you go for quarantine. You go and get treatment, you'll have the test done [and if] you're negative again you come back," she said.
Falode however threatened that clubs who do not comply risk being delisted from the league.
"I don't think any of them (clubs) will not comply. But, if you do not comply that means you want to put other people who have complied at risk and we'll not let you do that. You'll be delisted and I don't think any club wants that to happen.
So, It's something that you have to do. You're not doing it for me, you're not doing it for the NFF, you're not doing it for the Ministry of Sports or Health. You're doing it for yourself.
When they say something is a matter of life and death. You chose life over death and that's what I want the clubs to do," Falode emphasized.
Heartland and Adamawa Queens had earlier, before the league's resumption on December 9, been de-registered for failure to comply with the Covid-19 test formalities.
