Debutants Kano Pillars paid the price for a poor first leg as they crashed out of the Confederation Cup following a goalless draw with ASC Jaraaf at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium on Saturday.
The draw sealed a 3-1 aggregate win for ASC Jaraaf who progress to the playoff round of CAF’s second-tier competition.
The Senegalese side held a had the advantage from the first leg where goals from Zaky Bassene, Samba Dialo and Lubasse Gulye cancelled out David Ebuka’s early strike at the Stade Lat Dior last week.
Pillars needed to win by two clear goals to seal a spot on the next round but apart from a searching shot from captain Rabiu Ali early on, failed to unsettle the visitors’ rearguard.
