Nigeria’s fastest man Seye Ogunlewe has stated his target ahead of the upcoming World Athletics championships in Beijing this month and the All Africa Games in September. Ogunlewe beat Ogho-Oghene Egwero in a time of 10.19 secs to win the 100m at the just-concluded All Nigeria Athletics Championship in Warri while Egwero ran a time of 10.21secs and Jonathan Nmaju finished third in a time of 10.33secs at the event.
Angel Di Maria has arrived in Doha to undergo his medical ahead of a proposed £44m move from Manchester United to Paris Saint Germain. United paid a British record £59.7m fee to Real Madrid last August for the 27-year-old and were understood to want more than the £44m figure quoted in several national newspapers on Friday.
Fifa President Sepp Blatter was relieved of his International Olympic Committee ex officio membership on yesterday, seven months before he will be replaced as the head of soccer's governing body, IOC President Thomas Bach said yesterday.Blatter would ordinarily have been re-elected for another eight-year term as a procedural matter at the ongoing IOC Session in Malaysia, along with more than a dozen other members, but would be required to stand down when he left Fifa at the end of February.
