South East, South-East South-South Governors Declares Commitment to Unity of Nigeria

This was part of the resolutions at the third bimonthly meeting of the South-South and South-East Governors Forum, which held at the Imo State Government House in Owerri.
According to a statement released by the Special Assistant to the Rivers State Governor, SIMOEN NWAKAUDU, the Sunday night meeting was chaired by Governor UDOM EMMANUEL of Akwa Ibom State.
The Governors Forum commended leaders of the North and South-East who worked together to diffuse the tension created by the quit notice slammed on Igbos by what they called the misguided group.
Governor UDOM also called for the unity of the South-South and South-East regions, which he said would help in addressing the challenges faced by the two regions.
The outbreak of Monkeypox which started in Bayelsa State has spread to Akwa Ibom State.
Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, CHARLES UDOH confirmed that two suspected cases are under investigation.
