Skeletal services continue at UPTH despite Industrial court order

Today FM’s correspondent who monitored activities at the hospital reports that only Consultants are attending to few patients leaving many others stranded.

At the General outpatient unit, Today FM gathered that only about two doctors were available to attend to about twenty patients documented for the day.

Some of the stranded patients spoke to Today FM’S Jennifer Emejuru.

Meanwhile; a resident doctor has urged the NARD not to succumb to the Industrial Court Ruling, describing it as an attempt by the government to Stampede them

The Doctor who chose to be anonymous told Today FM that she has not  been paid for over three months like most of her colleagues, due to the new Government Integrated Financial Management Information System, GIFMIS, payment for newly employed doctors, adding that the GIFMIS platform has been inconsistent making it difficult for most of the Doctors to be paid.

The resident Doctor who hinted that the morale of doctors are dampened due to the attitude of the Federal government, called on the government to transfer their details to the IPPIS payment platform as promised in April.
