The organization in a statement also asked the president and Sylva to investigate the amount spent on the same items between 2016 and 2020, and if there is evidence of misuse of public funds, refer the matter to appropriate anti-corruption agencies for prosecution.

The statement was signed by SERAP deputy director,  Kolawole Oluwadare.

SERAP said if the federal government fails to take any action within 14 days of the publication of this letter; it shall take a legal action to compel the ministry to accede to its demands.
