RSG Warns Principals Against Illegal Fees

The Commissioner for Education, Professor Chinedu Mmom, gave the warning during a meeting with all principals in the state, at Government Girls Secondary School Rumuokwuta.

According to a statement by the Head of Press, Ministry of Education, Tochi Pepple, the commissioner said he had received complaints from parents and guardians that some principals charge outrageous fees, when admission into public schools in the state is free.

Professor Mmom, who also described such act as sabotage of Government efforts, stressed that anyone caught will be shown the way out.

The commission however, said the free education does not cover school uniforms and snacks for students, adding that parents should provide uniforms and writing materials for their children and wards.

He further urged parents and principals to compliment the efforts of the Government by doing the right things at all time.
