Rivers State Sole Administrator Cancels All Pending Procurements Following Supreme Court Ruling

The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete-Ibas, has announced the cancellation of all pending procurement and tender processes initiated by the state government. This directive comes in response to a recent judgment by the Supreme Court.

In an official statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibibia Worika, the Sole Administrator is taking decisive action to ensure compliance with the court’s ruling. The statement specifically instructs all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) involved in tendering for projects to cease operations immediately.

“Effective immediately, all procurement activities are to be halted, and MDAs must stop all related operations,” the statement read. It further emphasized that any MDAs that have already processed payments to contractors are required to issue refunds pending the approval of a new spending plan by the state.
