The State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, EMMA AGUMA, made the call in a brief remark at the opening of the panel’s sitting in Port Harcourt for its South-South leg.
AGUMA who is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria noted that Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigeria Police Force has turned to a nightmare for many residents and a security challenge to the state.
The Commissioner informed the panel that his office was compiling reports of alleged atrocities committed by SARS operatives in Rivers State for onward publication.
Also speaking; the Chairman of the Port Harcourt branch of the Nigerian Bar Association, OMUBO FRANK-BRIGGS agreed with the submission by the State Attorney General, adding that the excesses of SARS in Rivers State must be curtailed.
