Rivers PDP members continue protest at INEC office

Yesterday, the Leader of the House of Assembly, Martins Amaewhule, joined his colleague, the Deputy Speaker, Edison Ehie and Chairman of Ikwerre Local Government Area, Samuel Nwanosike.

At the INEC office, members of the PDP went fetish with their protest, by inviting a traditionalist.

The PDP is demanding for a joint inspection of electoral materials and an issuance of Certified True Copies of Result Sheets.

Meanwhile; the Independent National Electoral Commission has disclosed that it received fifty applications for issuance of Certified True Copies and access for inspection of election materials.

Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Johnson Alalibo, in a statement made available to newsmen, assured all applicants and the general public that the commission is committed to discharge its constitutional and lawful duties without bias.

Alalibo urged Rivers people to cooperate and operate within the ambits of the law, to enable the commission serve them better.

He noted that the application for CTC is legitimate entitlement of candidates and parties, but added that there are processes to achieve it, which he said include payment of requisite fees.
