The command’s Public Relations officer, Grace Iringe-Koko in statement said the twenty-six old Adiele who was a notorious armed robber died in a cult clash.
SP Iringe-Koko said the commissioner of Police Okon Effiong has deployed tactical teams to arrest other members of the cult group while investigation is ongoing to ascertain the root cause of the clash.
Earlier, the commander of the Diobu Vigilante Group, Prince Amatari-Bipeledei in a statement said Precious Adiele lost his life in a clash with a rival cult group terrorizing Gambia Street within the Mile 2 axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt City Local Government Area of the state.
Amatari-Bipeledei said in a reprisal attack, the cult group of Adiele set ablaze some buildings within Beribabou in Gambia which killed PIUS.
He also disclosed that three persons who were arrested by his team have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
The vigilante leader asked residents of Diobu to go about their lawful businesses and warned leaders of various cult groupsto call their boys to order while threatening not to tolerate any act capable of destroying the existing peaceful atmosphere in the area.
