Rivers CJ urges censorship of police personnel assigned for investigation

Justice Chibuzor-Amadi said this during a courtesy visit by the state Commissioner of Police, Oluntuji Disu, and his team at the judiciary complex where he also asked that the CP train the prosecutors to enable them to prepare adequately, especially their evidence in trailing a matter.

The Chief Judge of the state equally wants the Commissioner of Police to censor the kinds of personnel he deploys as orderlies to Judges, noting that some of the police personnel are not qualified to investigate cases.

Earlier in his address, CP Disu called for synergy between the Judiciary and the Police, particularly, possible ways of assigning their police cases faster for speedy dispensing.

Today FM’s Uchendu Ejiowhor reports that some of the judges who spoke at the forum blamed the police for the delay in the court process and criticized them for charging criminal matters without proper evidence to prosecute the matter.
