Some beneficiaries of the 10,000 civil service jobs in Rivers State on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest to the Government House in Port Harcourt over the non-issuance of their appointment and posting letters.
Leader of the group, Ajoku Okechukwu, while reading a communiqué, said the beneficiaries had undergone successful screening but were yet to receive their appointment letters from the state government. He called for the immediate issuance of the appointment and posting letters to all qualified candidates.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the National Association of Persons Living with Disabilities, Collins Akpana, alongside another member of the group, urged the Rivers State Government to fully implement the 10,000 civil service job initiative and issue letters to all successful applicants without further delay.
