reactions trail Gov Fubara’s comment on pipeline surveillance contract

The President of the Association of Niger Delta Upland Communities, ISA Mohammed-Obiri in his reaction to the comment, commended Governor Fubara, describing the comment as a bold step taken at the right time.

Mohammed-Obiri, who agreed with the position of the governor that a man from a different community cannot successfully oversee the pipeline contract in another community, said a Riverine man should not oversee the pipeline contract in Rumuekpe community.

The President of the Association of Niger Delta Upland Communities, while advising the multinational companies operating in Rumuekpe, including the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, said the pipeline surveillance contract should be reversed and handed over to indigenes of upland.

Governor Fubara had during a Federal Government delegation on the security of oil and gas assets led by the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, criticized the government for contracting the pipeline surveillance job to only one man, disregarding the host communities.
