President MUHAMMADU BUHARI has arrived in the French capital, Paris for the opening of the Climate Change Summit.
President BUHARI moved to France on completion of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in the island nation of Malta. Before leaving for France, the Nigerian leader rallied other commonwealth leaders on the need to tackle terrorism, stressing that terror and extremism can only endure if good people fail to take proactive action. Addressing the last Executive Session of the Commonwealth leaders, BUHARI expressed confidence that terrorism will be ultimately defeated with greater international cooperation and collaboration.
The President also reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Nigeria and other African member-countries to the promotion and protection of the core values of the Commonwealth. The Commonwealth group has a new Secretary-General-elect, in the person of PATRICIA JANET who is from Scotland.
