President Bola Tinubu Orders Security Chiefs to Ensure Peace in Benue State

President Bola Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to restore lasting peace and stability in Benue State. The President’s directive comes amid recent violence and reprisal attacks that have led to the loss of many lives.

In a statement issued by Presidential Spokesman Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu reaffirmed his earlier instructions to security chiefs to take decisive actions to curb violence and foster peace in the region. The President emphasized the importance of proactive and coordinated security measures to prevent further escalation of conflicts.

“The President has renewed his order to security agencies to implement strategies that will restore peace and security in Benue State,” Onanuga said. “This is in the wake of the latest round of reprisal attacks which resulted in the death of many innocent citizens. The government remains committed to ensuring the safety of all Nigerians and restoring stability in the affected areas.”

Security forces have been instructed to work closely with local communities, intelligence agencies, and relevant stakeholders to address the root causes of violence and prevent further outbreaks. The government also called on residents to remain calm and cooperate with security operations.

As efforts intensify, citizens and security experts alike are hopeful that the combined efforts will bring lasting peace to Benue State and restore order in the region.
