Pres Buhari to Present 2017 budget today.

President BUHARI had last week written to the Federal Lawmakers, requesting to make the presentation of the Appropriation Bill for consideration and approval before the next fiscal year.

The Budget presentation comes on the final week of plenary before the end-of-year recess by the National Assembly.

Ahead of today’s engagement; the Nigerian Senate has assured that the 2017 Medium Term Expenditure Framework will not be given a rubber stamp treatment.

The Senate Leader, Senator ALI NDUME, gave this indication when he received a report on the MTEF from the Centre for Social Justice led by EZE ONYEKPERE.

Standing in for the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI, Senator NDUME said gone are the days when the National Assembly would rubber stamp any document.

He said the Federal legislature will always analyze all documents to ensure that the interests of the citizens are protected.

Earlier in his remarks, EZE ONYEKPERE called on the National Assembly to ensure that the MTEF is submitted on time by the Executive in future.

He said the document presented by his group contains statistics on the micro economics and how to grow the economy, based on the reviewed of the MTEF submitted by the Buhari Administration.
