The fresh NDDC Board nominees are coming from Imo, Abia and Ondo states, which had their initial nominees rejected by the Senate for noncompliance with provisions of the enabling law of the commission.
The new names were contained in a letter from President BUHARI to the Senate President, BUKOLA SARAKI, which was read on the floor of the Senate in plenary.
Our correspondent JAMES IGAH cited the provision of the NDDC Act of 2007 which provides that only persons from oil producing communities could be appointed to the board of the NDDC as representatives of the various states.
