The police command spokesperson, Grace Iringe-Koko, made the clarification in a statement, while announcing the arrest of the woman.
The police spokesperson said the incident happened in Agbonchia, in Eleme Local Government Area of the state on Saturday, after the couple had a quarrel.
The statement said the man is undergoing treatment at the hospital and the police have begun investigation.
