CP Effiong who spoke in reaction to claims by Senator Maeba that he called him severally without any intervention, said he did not have the mobile number of the senator and was away in Ogoni for an operation.
CP Effiong said he has sent policemen to visit the scene of incident and commence investigation.
He also promised to personally visit the scene after his operation in Ogoni
Earlier, senator Lee Maeba told journalists that thugs that attacked his house tied his security guard and brutalized his elder brother.
Senator Maeba revealed that he received a call from a young man, before the attack, asking him to leave his home because some people have been hired to kill him.
Today FM’S Uchendu Ejiowhor who visited the scene of the incident reports that four vehicles belonging to Senator Lee Maeba were badly vandalized, his gate broken, although there was no casualty as the security personnel who was present escaped unharmed.
Information also revealed that the former federal lawmaker and other supporters of the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubarkar were billed to hold a meeting at the residence before the attack.
