Players of Sharks Football Club of Port Harcourt have gone on an indefinite strike due to nonpayment of enhanced salaries. The move comes a day after Sharks defeated city rivals Dolphins in a derby. Sharks Captain, ODINGA ODINGA confirmed the development in an interview with our correspondent.ODINGA said the players have stopped training and are not going to resume until their demands are met. The Sharks Captain accused the club owners – the Rivers State Government of not being honest to the team.

He threatened that Sharks players will boycott upcoming Nigeria Professional Football League games if they are not paid. Sharks FC of Port Harcourt are currently at 16th place in the Nigeria Professional Football League, with 36 points and seven games to the end of season.
