PHEDC staff protest over plans to sack 120 members

The PHEDC staffs members who are mainly members of the Senior Staff Association of  Electricity and Allied Company, protested to the office of Human rights Advocate in Port Harcourt.

 

The staff alleged that the Managing Director of electricity company, Henry Ajagbawa has already commence the action with the sack of the Branch President of the group.

 

 

The Sacked branch President of the Senior Staff Association of  Electricity and Allied Company Paulinus Akpan and the Acting General Secretary of the group in South South, Innocent Lord-Douglas expressed concern over the attitude of MD since his arrests by the Rivers state government. 

 

 

A Human Rights Advocate, OC Higher-King who spoke on the matter, said the alleged uncovered plot to sack, if executed by the management of PHEDC will be against the Nigeria labour law and called on the management of the company to have a rethink.

 

 

When our correspondent contacted the PHEDC Manager, Corporate Communications, John Onyi said the company will respond adequately in due time.
