APC National Chairman, Chief JOHN ADIGUN-OYEGUN; National Secretary of the party, SEGUN ONI, and APC Deputy National Chairman–South, Chief DON ETIEBET, led members of the National Working Committee of the APC to the rally.
The APC leaders harped on the need for the people of Rivers State to return all APC candidates for the National Assembly and State Assembly elections to enable the state enjoy greater attention from the Federal Government.
Chief OYEGUN said the APC was on a mission to rescue Rivers State from what he described as a blood-thirsty regime in the state.
In his remarks; former Governor of Rivers State and State Leader of the APC, ROTIMI AMAECHI challenged members of the party to resist any act of intimidation during the elections.
ROTIMI AMAECHI who is also the Minister of Transport, advised APC members not to engage in acts of violence during the elections, but to resist those who bring violence to them.
The Governor of Sokoto State, AMINU TAMBUWAL, Senator BARAU JUBRIN and the Majority Leader in the House of Representatives led APC chieftains from the northern part of the country to attend the rally in Port Harcourt.
The vote of thanks was rendered by the APC candidate for Rivers South-East, Senator MAGNUS ABE, who used the occasion to berate Rivers State Governor, NYESOM WIKE.
Senator ABE challenged Governor WIKE to emulate the conduct of APC State Governors in other parts of the country for the good of Rivers people.
