Over sixty families have been rendered homeless by flooding in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State. A community Leader, ENIATA ABIABA who spoke to correspondent UCHENDU EJIOWHOR said the flooding took the inhabitants unawares, leaving their farms waterlogged. On his part, the immediate past Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Area, IKECHUKWU OBUZOR called on the National Emergency Management Agency and other responsible agencies to quickly intervene in the matter. OBUZOR also called on the state government to provide alternative source of livelihood for the people who were seriously affected. Our Correspondent gathered that five communities including, Oruama, Akinima, Mbiama and Joinkrama one and two were affected by the heavy flooding.
